Pure Choices

You have decided to be pure and not let yourself become one of the unpure. You have chosen to follow the law. You and your family are now broke and can barely afford food.
Have a slice of cheap cake.

Because of your good actions nothing happened. Literally nothing, life continues on as it would have. You are not rewarded for your good behavior, but you aren't punished either. You can continue on with your poor, broke life as if nothing ever happened to you, except now you are poor. As poor as that cake up there.
